First, we ask that you read this form, as it will clearly inform you of our commitment to you as a new client and the steps you will need to take to get the most out of each treatment.
Acupuncture requires that we work together as a team. Some people are led to believe that all they have to do is show up for treatment, and then, “like magic” their dis-ease disappears! The process does not often work in that way. The more involved you get and the more responsibility you take for your own healing process, the more profound and long lasting your transformation will be. Remember, the body follows the mind. If you have been told that acupuncture should work on the first treatment or else it won’t work at all, then you have been misinformed and we encourage you to consider otherwise.
Between Heaven and Earth can certainly offer you powerful support in overcoming acute/chronic health conditions and dissatisfying emotional terrain. However it will ultimately be up to you to be responsible for your own health by cooperating with the lifestyle recommendations we offer, whether they be directed at diet, exercise, or stress reduction.
Often the effects of Acupuncture will emerge more fully in your conscious awareness after the first 6-8 treatments... again, depending upon your involvement and situation. There will be times when you feel wonderful after a treatment; however, for us to transform the root cause of your discomfort lasting effects may take time.
Below are steps that we ask you to take with us to gain the most out of your treatments.

1. Maintain consistency...

...in treatment and changes to your lifestyle that we both agree on and formulate together. On your first visit we will also discuss the frequency and number of visits that will serve you best. This is called your treatment plan, and this will be reviewed after the end of the planned number of treatments. We ask that you make a commitment to your treatment plan.

2. Continue/Start exercising...

...3-5 times a week, depending on your needs. We will discuss the most beneficial exercise for you personally. Ultimately, our goal is to find activities that you enjoy and that also work for your system. These can include, Yoga, Pilates, stretching, walking, hiking, biking, running, rock climbing, swimming, house-cleaning and many more.

3. Integrate your diet...

...by eating as many organic and whole foods as possible. Most clients will be given a diet plan to follow. If we recommend you abstain from any foods please know that this is normally only for a certain period of time to assess the effects they have on your system. After that trial period, you can then make an informed decision about whether you want to reintroduce them into your diet or not. This is one of the most important steps that you can take to transforming your health and becoming knowledgeable about your own body.

4. Make quiet time...

...by making a commitment everyday to experience still, introspective moments. This is a great opportunity to meditate, or to practice the visualisations and meditations that you will be taught during your Acupuncture session. This time can also be just a few minutes of breath work. The point of this time is to get your out of your cogitating head and into your intuitive body.
